Denmark profits from the UN
23-07-2008

Companies:

The Danish membership in the UN is a very good business for Danish companies and the Treasury.  The UN organisations are buying from Danish companies to such a great extent that Denmark gets its contribution to the UN fifteen times back. That makes Denmark the country profiting mostly from the UN membership, show new figures from the Oresund Institute according to Berlingske Tidende.

At the moment Copenhagen is accomodating more than 1,000 UN employees and hosting several Nordic, European and global UN headquarters. Hereby, Copenhagen has one of the world’s largest concentrations of UN organisations, which is a very favorable business for Denmark.
